Keepers of the Faith in concert to support Syrian refugees
by Mel Wiebe
Every day the ISIS group and other groups like them are killing innocent people, it seems like just for the fun of it. Or, is it because they are coming back to the original style of practicing their religion. Here is what the Qur’an says: “not to make friendship with Jews and Christians” (5:51), “kill the disbelievers wherever we find them” (2:191), “murder them and treat them harshly” (9:123), “fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem” (9:5). The Qur’an says to fight the unbelievers, and promises “If there are twenty amongst you, you will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, you will vanquish a thousand of them” (8:65).
“It is estimated that 270 million people have been killed by jihad.” Tears of Jihad by Bill Warner
Radical Muslims say they are obeying Al-ah by ‘cleansing’ the globe of infidels. “They don’t care what it’s called; they are just following their ideology and that means getting rid of churches and minorities,” said Middle East Media Research Institute Executive Director Steven Stalinsky. “It is the Islamic State, and there’s no room for anyone else.” This has been going on for some time, a systematic campaign to rid the region of any vestiges of Christianity.
Still there is a lot of confusion in the Muslim world now because many moderate Muslims did not know that this is the true way of practicing their religion.
In addition to many thousands being killed, tens of thousands have fled to refugee camps and are facing starvation and more persecution if they live.
Even though this is the sad truth, more Muslims have come to Christ in the last 10 years than in the last 1,400 years since Islam began. And here in North America, many Muslims come to Christ when they have been told about God’s love and the wonderful plan of salvation. Please pray for the refugees and those Muslims around the world that they might find Christ.
Keepers of the Faith will give a free concert at Surrey Pentecostal Assembly on April 25. An offering will be taken to support Syrian refugees affected by ISIS. The offering will be matched by a donor 4 to 1.
Mel Wiebe is the Canadian Director of International Christian Response. For more information on the concert or providing support for persecuted Christians call 604-836-4546 www.christianresponse.ca
