Voices Together: Lifting Jesus High

by Pastor Aldrin Navo, VT Core Team Member

A Henry Ford quote aptly describes how Voices Together started: “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”  Since the first Voices Together event occurred in 2008, significant things took place as far as unity of God’s family is concerned. Thus, the subsequent events became proof of what happens when everyone worked together to lift Jesus high above everything else.

This July 1 at Pacific Coliseum, another partnership of many like-minded individuals declaring with one  “Voices Together” occurs again. This event provides an opportunity for many people to experience God’s promise of inhabiting the praises of His people. On that day, Rogers Arena will transform as a habitation of God’s presence with His people lifting up a powerful sound of praise and united prayer.

What occurred last 2008 was a seed faith towards this year’s event and your participation on July 1st helps cultivate the seed of our faith towards revival for this land. In the past, many people shared revival stories, and like them, I am looking forward to its arrival in my time. However, revival comes when God’s people become passionate in praying for its appearance in a mighty way. Would you join us on July 1 to pray for revival for our beloved land?

Most importantly, when we come together as one family, we answer the prayer of Jesus uttered more than 2,000 years ago,That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:21 NIV).

After all, unity provides an opportunity to see victory never seen before. Hy Pickering shared this story to illustrate this point: “Just before the battle of Trafalgar, Nelson inquired of Admiral Collingwood where his captain was, and learned that he and Captain Rotherham were not on good terms with each other. Sending a boat for the captain, he placed the hands of Collingwood and Rotherham together, pointed to the enemy’s ships, and earnestly looking them both in the face, he uttered the simple words: ‘Look, yonder is the enemy.’ It was enough; disagreements were forgotten, and victory was gained.”

Remember, when you decide to join us on July 1, you’ve chosen to celebrate Canada Day with the Lord and His people lifting Jesus high with “Voices Together.”
