Ancient Burials:  Don’t count on life insurance to pay for your funeral

The life insurance industry has a reputation for delaying payouts by wrapping proceeds in red tape, sometimes for months. In the case of a questionable death, it can take as long as two years.  When insurance companies (finally) do pay, they simply pay the beneficiary you have assigned. The beneficiary is free to disburse expenses as they see fit. Will it be according to your wishes?

A pre-need funeral plan combined with pre-need funeral insurance can ensure that your wishes are honoured.  The essential services needed are covered – no matter how high their actual costs are – at the time of death, whether ten years from now or 100 years from now.  (You shouldn’t have to worry about living a long life!)  Funeral Insurance is actually something of an invitation to live a long life!  How’s that for irony?

Pre-planning and pre-funding a funeral with manageable monthly payments provides you with peace of mind now, and for your loved ones in the future.

You’ll likely find pre-planning surprisingly simple. Take the first step and call funeral director Zane Green at 604-308-2822 or use our contact form at  We even make house calls. Or, we can meet you wherever is most convenient for you. Personalized service is just one of the things that sets Ancient Burials apart.

Christian Service Brigade doesn’t separate the men from the boys. In fact, we encourage men to join boys in the action that they love and wrap it in Biblical truth. As the regular season ends and the summer programs begin, churches are already anticipating their fall ministries. From Grand Forks to Kitimat, from Prince George to Surrey, CSB is a great club ministry for boys. And it captures the imaginations of the men who lead it.

What are the men doing in your church? Are they investing in their boys? Are they actively building boys and young men as disciples of Jesus Christ? Men love a challenge and will exceed expectations if given the opportunity.

CSB builds godly men of today… and tomorrow. We provide resources, training and certification. Check out how you can partner with CSB at and start a Christ-centred midweek boys’ club in your church.

Thailand adoptions

All adoptions are special, but there are some unique characteristics to an adoption from Thailand. On a level not seen in many other countries, the Government of Thailand is dedicated to its orphaned and abandoned children. That also applies to the business community, where it is common practice for businesses to shut for one day each year and the employees all go to a local orphanage for the day.

Every four years the Government of Thailand sponsors a homecoming trip and visit for Thai children adopted around the world. No other country in the world does this. Families and children return to Thailand and are treated to cultural and tourist events and orphanage visits.

Thailand is a signatory to the Hague International Adoption Convention. Sunrise is accredited under the Hague Convention in both British Columbia and Thailand to assist in the adoption of Thailand’s vulnerable children. If you know of someone who would like to adopt a child from Thailand, please have them contact us. The qualifications to become adopting parents are set out on the Thailand page of our website.
