Our 2024 Spring Gala will be on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 pm, at the Royal Palace Banquet Hall (7845 Edmonds St, Burnaby). Tickets are $95 or purchase a table for $720. Together, we welcome refugee claimants who have fled persecution in places like Afghanistan, Colombia, and Iraq. Newly arrived in Canada, they face significant barriers to meeting their basic needs such as food and shelter.Families and individuals in our program arrive without access to resources, facing the stark reality of food insecurity. This year, around the Welcome Table, we are raising $60,000 for these families to have access to food during their initial resettlement phase.Funds raised at this year’s event will make a direct impact by enabling us to provide those in our program with grocery gift cards, empowering families to purchase food they are familiar with, ensuring their nutritional needs are met with dignity and choice.
