Supporting Vulnerable Families Facing Economic Hardship This Christmas
Advokate has launched its annual “Give the Gift of Life Campaign.” The campaign invites the community to support its mission of providing essential and compassionate care to women and families navigating unexpected pregnancies during a period of rising economic strain.
Advokate’s services are critical for vulnerable women facing financial difficulties, who often struggle with the cost of necessities like food, baby supplies, or sometimes even housing, adding immense pressure during pregnancy. Furthermore, Advokate is becoming a vital resource for new immigrant families who may be unfamiliar with how to access and navigate the Canadian healthcare system and government support programs. Advokate provides the education, support, and practical items needed to ensure a healthy and stable start for the mother and child.
“Advokate exists to restore hope and dignity by removing the practical barriers that overwhelm vulnerable families,” said Bethany Somerville, Director of Development. “It can sometimes seem impossible for a woman facing hardship to see a joyful future, but with community support, we make new beginnings possible. We believe every person has worth, and the Christmas season is the perfect time to affirm that belief through tangible acts of generosity.”
