In the winter of 1940, Raleigh and May are forced to share a seat on a cross-country train headed east. When they strike up a spirited conversation and discover more intimate connections, the future changes course. Set against the backdrop of the Second World War, this poignant romance tracks the rocky courtship of a young couple from Kentucky who ensure that life continues to flourish, even in the darkest of times.
