Action International Ministries

Action International Ministries (ACTION) is an international, interdenominational, multicultural ministry with offices in Canada, the USA, United Kingdom, and the Philippines.

History: ACTION began in 1974 in Manila, Philippines, to serve the needs of street youth and families, squatter communities, and inmates, because they were being underserved by existing organizations and local churches. Since that time, ACTION has expanded to over 300 missionaries in more than 30 countries worldwide – Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe.

Motto: Know God, Take ACTION (Daniel 11:32b). We believe that all followers of Jesus Christ are called to be missionaries wherever God has placed them – in their neighbourhood, workplace, school, etc. ACTION exists to provide opportunities for people called to serve the poor and vulnerable overseas.

Vision: Using evangelism, discipleship and development to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serve the needs of the poor, vulnerable, and neglected, including street people, squatter communities, orphans, widows/widowers, the poor, disabled, and refugees.

Partners: ACTION partners with many local churches, at home and abroad, and local and international organizations. We also partner with Bible colleges, providing placement opportunities for their students looking for short term and internship opportunities overseas.

Types of Ministries: education, feeding programs, pastor and church leadership training, agricultural sustainability, youth camps, children’s and youth programs, vocational training, visual and performing arts outreach, and much more.

Opportunities: ACTION offers short term, internship and long-term service opportunities, both in person and virtually. This allows people to serve alongside ACTION missionaries and their staff, using their gifts, abilities, education, and life experience, to help people follow the mission path the Lord has for them and to make a difference in other people’s lives. ACTION looks for people who are passionate about Jesus Christ and serving in obedience to those who are needy, in an overseas, cross-cultural environment.
