Our Core Purpose is to develop and nurture the transformation of restored individuals into useful, productive, law-abiding citizens by creating a framework that challenges them to reach their fullest potential in all areas of life.
Our Core Values
Integrity – Living and working with excellence
Compassion – Embracing hope, love, and reconciliation
Community – Working together and supporting one another
Vision – Seeing beyond the present
Faith – Believing God for the impossible
Servanthood – Dedicating ourselves to the success of others
Stewardship – faithfully managing God’s call and resources
Adult & Teen Challenge began with Rev. David Wilkerson in 1958 in New York. He was called to minister to young men that were trapped in gang life, addiction, and crime. The ministry has the largest footprint on addiction recovery in the world with 1400 centers in 128 nations. 30+ countries have requested Teen Challenge as an agent of God’s change for their nations.
Provincially, we have three year-long residential program centers. The Chilliwack Men’s Center (capacity 14), the Okanagan Men’s Center (capacity 22), and Patricia Hope House (women) in Surrey (capacity 18).
Our 1st year program is for men and women aged 19+. Our 2nd year (post-graduation) program is an additional 6 months to 18 months of supportive covering (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual) depending on individual needs (personal assessment, life skills, employment, education, strength of supportive circles). The Abbotsford Women’s Center is an Aftercare facility for program graduates, under our Successful Living Program. As well, non-residential support groups are offered through all of our centers. Both in person and Zoom groups are available, making our reach far and wide, depending on individual and community needs. We have also opened a NEW Adult & Teen Challenge BC Community Office in Cranbrook BC which offers pastoral and non-residential care as well as intake referral to our programs.
In a world that continues to challenge and seek God, we believe that the only way to truth, abundant life and freedom is through His Son, Jesus Christ. We are positioned and purposed to share the Gospel and to proclaim freedom for the captives. The women of our program are steeped in His Word daily and go forth as His disciples in our communities and homes.
