The 55th Annual MCC Festival for World Relief, held September 13-14 at TRADEX, was a tremendous success. Victoria Ninaber, Director of Advancement for MCC BC said, “Our community united to raise vital funds, making a profound impact on the lives of over 44,500 people in need. We are deeply grateful for the generous support and excited to see these contributions go towards global food relief efforts and direct assistance to displaced families here in BC.”

As Western Canada’s largest Mennonite festival, the event drew over 8,000 attendees and was supported by 500 dedicated volunteers and staff. Guests enjoyed a wide array of traditional Mennonite foods, such as perogies and Mennonite poutine, alongside new allergy-friendly options. So far, the MCC Festival has raised an impressive $946,000, with donations still coming in! Help us reach our $1 million goal by visiting mccfestival.com/donate and give the gift of food today.

Festival highlights included debut stage shows of the FIRST ever Mennonite Family Feud and The Great Borscht Cook-Off, hosted by Leland Klassen. Attendees also enjoyed performances by the MEI Marching Band and local musicians such as Ben Cottrill and Thistle Dew. The Kid’s Fun Zone, with bouncy castles, mini golf, and Ratatouille screenings, was a favourite among families.
