Fun in the Son strives to create a fun-filled, high-energy place for children to come and ultimately have a memorable summer. We are seeking Camp Leaders with a love for kids, camp, and Christ, showing the love of Jesus to the kids while creating lasting memories.

Time frame: July – August 22

Full Time Position

Location: Emmanuel Community Reformed Church, Edmonton.

Job Description:

The Camp Leader role is centered around the children of the camp. Leaders have to opportunity to bond with each child and create a safe environment in which they can play, build friendships and memories, explore, problem solve, enjoy the outdoors, and learn more about God. The leader’s main jobs are essentially to play and be with the kids and create a space children enjoy being in. Leaders are to follow the directions of the Director to maintain a steady flow of camp activities; this includes keeping children occupied with on-the-spot activities while games or crafts are being set up. Leaders must be able to act on their feet, be creative, develop a fun environment, while still maintaining a disciplined role. Duties include:

Creating Bible lessons based on the weekly theme

Rotationally lead crafts, worship, and group games

Leading children through camp activities

Requirements:

Be a believer of Jesus Christ

Willingness to put children first

Background experience in childcare

Ability to do light physical activity

Work well in a high-energy environment

Fully commit to full time (July-August)

Strong sense of teamwork and quick decision-making skills

Great communication skills for both children and co-workers

Be an example of Christ’s love to reflect the values of the camp and the God we serve

To qualify candidates must meet Canada Summer Jobs requirements:

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
