Canada Star Secondary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave. We are an independent school serving students in grades 10–12, committed to delivering personalized instruction, small class sizes, and strong post-secondary planning support.
Our educators work closely with students and families to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that prioritizes social-emotional development, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
– Deliver engaging and differentiated English instruction aligned with BC Ministry of Education curriculum.
– Foster academic and personal growth through a social-emotional learning lens.
– Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
– Design course outlines, unit plans, and lesson plans with clear learning objectives.
– Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates on student progress.
– Collaborate with faculty to review and develop curricula.
– Participate in co-curricular activities and supervision duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
– Bachelor of Education degree.
– BC teaching certification.
– Minimum two years of teaching experience (preferred).
– Strong communication, classroom management, and curriculum planning skills.
– Experience with online teaching tools and platforms.
– Passion for student development and a commitment to inclusive education.
