Pacific Voices – A Family of Choirs is gearing up to wow the community this spring with their highly anticipated choral spectacular, Sing The Story! Join us on June 7th at Gateway Church in Abbotsford for an unforgettable, family-friendly event with two performances at 2 pm and 7 pm. It’s your chance to experience the power of choral music woven together with stunning visual arts—so grab your family and friends and get ready for an afternoon (or evening) of pure joy!
This concert is all about the power of story—stories about life, love, and most importantly, faith. The program is packed with incredible music, featuring performances by all six divisions of Pacific Voices. We’ll kick things off with a fun and energetic performance of “Another Day of Sun” from La La Land, choreographed by Janelle Stauffer. Then, get ready to be moved by the hauntingly beautiful “Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre, followed by the uplifting classic “What A Wonderful World.”
But that’s just the beginning! We’ll also showcase two amazing Canadian pieces: “Wau Bulan” by Tracy Wong, which tells the story of a kite soaring through the Philippines with stunning floor choreography, and “Ambe” by Andrew Balfour, a beautiful song that welcomes everyone into a community.
And of course, we’ll end the night with the greatest story of all—the story of what Jesus has done for us! We’ll bring the house down with crowd favorites like Zach Williams’ “Old Church Choir” performed by 230 singers and Shane and Shane’s “Your Amazing Love”. Plus, back by popular demand, get ready for a high-energy, toe-tapping rendition of the beloved “Children Go Where I Send Thee,” complete with jaw-dropping body percussion and a fun, rhythmic rap interlude. (Yes, we like to break some rules of choral music—we like it that way!)
Under the direction of Artistic Director Sonja Hindmarsh and an incredible team of directors and choreographers, Pacific Voices – A Family of Choirs is set to deliver an experience you won’t soon forget. It’s the perfect blend of powerful music, breathtaking choreography, and pure fun!
