Dancing Into a New Chapter: Brian Doerksen’s Album Release Celebration in Fort Langley
By: Sharon Rurak – Vision PR Solutions

JUNO award-winning recording artist Brian Doerksen is inviting everyone to something a little unexpected—a live concert and old-fashioned dance to celebrate the release of his brand-new album, “Love for a Lifetime”. It all takes place on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at the iconic Fort Langley Community Hall, and whether you’re a dancer or not, you are warmly welcome.

Brian is known worldwide for heartfelt songs like “Come, Now Is the Time to Worship”, “Faithful One”, and “Refiner’s Fire”, but this latest release marks a new and deeply personal chapter: an entire album of original love songs.

The idea? Celebrate love—not just at weddings, but throughout life.

“Joyce and I aren’t dancers,” Brian says, “but I’ll never forget my dad—also not a dancer—at his granddaughter’s wedding saying, ‘I’m so happy I can’t help myself – I have to dance!’” That spontaneous joy inspired this evening of music, memories, and movement.

This isn’t your typical concert. It’s an all-ages, old-fashioned dance with music you can listen to, sway to, or go all-in on the dance floor. The venue is a perfect match. With hardwood floors, vintage charm, party lights overhead, and tables ringing the room, Fort Langley Community Hall sets the stage for a night to remember.

Brian will be joined by a stellar band of musicians who helped bring Love for a Lifetime to life. From Winnipeg, guitarist and producer Murray Pulver joins the lineup, along with Vancouver-based players Geoff Hicks on drums (Colin James, Barney Bentall), Jeremy Holmes on bass (Rock ‘N’ Roll Circus), and Darryl Havers on keyboards (Alan Doyle). It’s a top-tier team, playing both the 12 brand-new love songs from the album and some classic love song covers. Between sets, you’ll even hear curated recordings of other iconic love songs spun through the sound system.

And it’s not just music that’s on offer. There will be a candy station, non-alcoholic drinks, and a chance to meet Brian and get a signed CD. Whether you come with a partner or solo, you’ll be welcomed into the joyful, inclusive atmosphere that Brian and Joyce have always cultivated through their work.

The album’s first single, “We’re Not Alone”, dropped on Valentine’s Day. Since then, “A Love That Doesn’t Fade” and the most recent single, “This Is Our Love” (released April 11th), have continued to build excitement ahead of the full album release on Friday, May 9th—just in time for the celebration.

One couple who got a sneak peek of the music shared that they had a “long hug” after the show. That’s the kind of impact Brian hopes these songs will continue to have—bringing people together in gratitude for the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.

If you’ve never been to Fort Langley, this is a perfect excuse to visit. The village is full of charm—boutique shops, cozy restaurants, riverside walks—and makes a great pre-show stop.

And if you know someone who would love to come but can’t afford a ticket, consider gifting one. “We will take good care of them,” Brian says. “Everyone is welcome.”

After 35 years of songwriting, performing, and sharing his heart with audiences around the world, Brian Doerksen is still creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and inspired. This album, this dance, this evening—it’s a celebration not just of music, but of life and love in all their complexity and beauty.

So, whether you’re there to dance, listen, connect, or just soak up the warmth of an evening filled with music and meaning—this night is for you.
