The Western Regional Conference on Faith and History (WRCFH), as a regional chapter of the Conference on Faith and History (CFH), brings together educators, scholars, and students to explore the intersections of Christian faith and historical inquiry. Building on the CFH 2024 theme of historians and their contexts, this year’s focus seeks to explore boundaries—intellectual, institutional, geographical, and pedagogical—that shape historical understanding across different educational contexts. The WRCFH welcomes scholars, educators, and students to join us this October at Pacific Academy, a large K-12 Christian school near Vancouver, BC.
How can secondary and postsecondary educators collaborate more effectively to foster deeper historical thinking and engagement? What role does faith play in shaping historical narratives and approaches to teaching history? This conference invites discussion on these questions and more, encouraging participants to consider new ways of fostering continuity, dialogue, and mentorship across academic levels.
Through keynote addresses, panel discussions, and workshops, we will explore how historical study—grounded in Christian faith—can transcend divisions, enrich learning experiences, and prepare our students to navigate complex historical and contemporary issues with wisdom.
