A Season For Everything
Alone, new to Canada, and not financially ready or emotionally prepared,  a young client had a positive pregnancy test in our centre. She cried when she received the results. She was trying so hard to convince herself that abortion was the best choice, though it conflicted with her beliefs. After counselling and information were given, the client was open to encouragement and prayer for the decisions she had ahead.Several follow-up attempts were made with no response. One day the client shows up at our centre’s front desk, excited and joyful. She decided to parent! She is now connected with resources to set her up for parental success!
Mia recently connected with OnlineCare, looking for support and healing after past abortions. She was paired with one of our compassionate volunteers and began opening up about the pain and grief she carried. Through their online conversation, Mia shared how much it meant to feel truly heard and validated: “Thanks for being so attentive and actually caring about how I feel. It means a lot.”
Mia’s strong faith in God opened the door for her volunteer to speak words of truth and hope, helping her challenge the lies she had believed about herself. Having someone reflect the love and truth of Jesus was exactly what Mia needed as she considered next steps, including long-term counseling.
Three girls who attended our sexual integrity presentations in Uganda, were pregnant and had told no one. After the training, they approached their pastors to receive help in telling their parents. The girls remarked that without the information, they would have had abortions. One girl said she would be dead because she was planning suicide. The parents said if they hadn’t attended the training they would have chased their daughters away. When one of the Ugandan pastors and his wife recently had a premature baby they found themselves at the hospital ministering hope to many women. This led to the women coming to their church for support while pregnant or with their newborns. There have now been 10 salvations through this unexpected outreach. Starting a crisis pregnancy centre is their next step.
In 2024, CAS sent a team to Uganda to provide sexual integrity training for pastors, parents, and youth, and to train leaders in post abortion grief recovery training. These stories are the fruit of the mission.
