Providing Quality Care in a Christian Setting to the Elderly
Blenheim Lodge is a faith-based Complex Care Long Term Care home providing “Quality Care in a Christian Setting” to 96 frail elderly. Our Director of Support Services is responsible for the daily operations of the Kitchen and Housekeeping staff and supplies. We are searching for a competent person to manage this department of 35 staff for an eighteen-month period while the current Director is on maternity leave.
Reporting to the CEO and working with the Registered Dietitian and the Director of Resident Care, the Director of Resident Support Services leads the in-house meal production and housekeeping and laundry services, overseeing the daily operations, staffing, and supplies ordering.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2-year Food Service Supervisor’s diploma from a recognized college, or equivalent experience
· Certificate in environmental services operation, or equivalent experience
· Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
· Eligible for membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
· Current FoodSafe II certificate
· WHMIS training

· Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral English
· Able to organize work and work independently and collaboratively
· Demonstrated skills and personality to maintain harmonious and supportive working relationships with staff and peers
· Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Aptness to teach, counsel, and lead others
