Regent Christian Academy
Position Title: High School Drama & Theatre Production Teacher
Job Status: Part-Time
Regent Christian Academy Society serves children and families across our campus schools, online school, and early learning programs. We focus on strong academics, whole-child development, and a Christ-centered environment where students grow in character and purpose. Our teams work hard, care deeply, and move fast to support a growing and dynamic school community.
As a central division of the Society, Regent Christian Academy (RCA) is our flagship campus-based school, serving the community through our Sullivan and Cloverdale campuses in Surrey, BC. We bring the RCAS mission to life through a vibrant, in-person learning community where students from Preschool through Grade 12 engage in rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and the fine arts. At RCA, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and nurturing environment where classroom excellence and spiritual mentorship prepare students to lead and serve with integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Regent Christian Academy (RCA) is seeking a creative, technically skilled, and faith-driven educator to lead our High School Theatre Production program. With a 47-year legacy of excellence in Christian education, RCA is a vibrant community of 750 students across two campuses, dedicated to equipping the next generation to impact society through a Christ-centered lens.
As a core member of our Fine Arts team, you will bridge the gap between technical artistry and spiritual mentorship. We are looking for an individual passionate about the “magic” behind the curtain—sound, lighting, and stagecraft—who is equally committed to fostering Godly character in their students. If you have a heart for Christian education and a drive for production excellence, we want to hear from you.
As the Theatre Production Teacher, you will be the architect of our stage environment. Your role goes beyond the classroom, bridging the gap between technical execution and spiritual leadership.
Instructional Leadership: Lead HS Theatre Production courses, providing hands-on training in sound and lighting systems.
Production Management: Oversee the technical “hierarchy” of school productions, including set design, stage management, and marketing.
Spiritual Integration: Contribute technically and creatively to the Drama and Chapel programs, ensuring our productions reflect our Biblical mission.
Collaboration: Work closely with the High School Vice-Principal and staff to foster a nurturing environment for students and their families.
Program Growth: Bring an innovative mindset to elevate the reputation and quality of RCA’s performing arts department.
Requirements & Qualifications:
We are looking for a candidate who combines professional technical expertise with a heart for mentorship.
Essential Requirements:
Valid Teaching Certification: Must hold a BC teaching certificate (or another Canadian provincial equivalent).
Academic Background: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.
Technical Mastery: Thorough, hands-on understanding of sound/light equipment and production systems.
Relational Excellence: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire youth and collaborate with adults.
Preferred Experience:
Proven track record in set design, production management, or stage management.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving parts of a production schedule.
As a faith-based educational institution, RCAS hires staff whose beliefs and conduct align with our Christian mission, values, and Statement of Faith. This role requires a genuine and reasonable occupational requirement (GOR) for the employee to affirm and support RCAS’s Christian beliefs and actively participate in a Christian church community. RCAS is committed to fair and equitable hiring practices within the scope of this requirement. Qualified candidates who meet these criteria are encouraged to apply.
