Job Title: Full-Time Children’s Pastor

Steele Heights Baptist Church is a dynamic, growing church committed to impacting our community through Christ-centered worship, service and outreach. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a passionate, creative, and dedicated Children’s Pastor to lead and develop our children’s ministry. Our mission is to inspire and equip children to follow Jesus and grow in their faith in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Position Overview: The Children’s Pastor will oversee and develop a comprehensive
ministry for children ages (0-12 years), providing a fun, engaging, and biblically sound
environment that fosters spiritual growth. The individual will partner with parents,
volunteers, and start to create an atmosphere where children are encouraged to discover
and deepen their relationship with Christ.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Develop Children’s Ministry Programs: Plan and implement age-appropriate
Bible based curriculum, activities, and events that engage children and foster spiritual growth.
Volunteer Recruitment & Training: Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to serve in
children’s ministry, ensuring they understand child safety policies and biblical
teaching methods.
Parental Partnership: Communicate with parents to encourage their involvement in
their child’s spiritual development, offering resources and support.
Ministry Growth and Outreach: Develop creative strategies to engage new families,
reach the community, and expand the ministry to meet the needs of a growing church.
Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a team of volunteers and staff, working
collaboratively with the church leadership to align children’s ministry goals with the
overall vision and purpose of the church.
Safety And Security: Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all children,
ensuring that all safety policies and child protection protocols are followed.
Special Events & Activities: Plan and execute special events such as camps, holiday
celebrations, and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications:
A passionate and committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for children and
their spiritual growth.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers and
children.
Creative, organized, and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to plan and
execute events and programs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect
with children, parents, and church staff.
Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
Background check and child protection training required.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Children’s, Family or Next Gen Ministry, or related field.
Relevant children’s ministry experience or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Compensation:
Salary: Full-time, competitive, with health benefits.
Paid Time off: 3 weeks.
