About Youth Unlimited (YU)

Youth Unlimited in Greater Vancouver is a dynamic, faith-based, Christian organization fueled by passionate outreach workers who are committed to supporting youth on the margins. We build genuine, non-judgmental relationships to love and care for youth, with a goal to love like Jesus loved. At YU, we create spaces of connection and transformation, helping young people discover their potential, regardless of their circumstances. Whether they’re feeling alone, vulnerable, have tangible needs or just need a safe place to belong, we’re here to walk alongside them, foster their personal growth, help them build life skills, and support their spiritual development when invited to do so. We don’t give up, they don’t age out and we are in it for the long haul.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented and driven Development and Marketing Coordinator to help elevate Youth Unlimited’s visibility and impact. In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for creative content creation, designing tools and systems that strengthen our marketing and fundraising efforts, ensuring our youth workers have the resources they need to support at-risk youth in Greater Vancouver. You’ll also use analytics and a CRM system to track and improve fundraising strategies, support creating proposals and have some participation in direct fundraising efforts. You will work alongside our Communications and Marketing Specialist and our Graphic Designer. If you are passionate about storytelling, relationship-building, and leveraging data to make a meaningful impact, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

– Storytelling and Content Creation: Craft compelling narratives to highlight the transformative work YU is doing in the community.
– Creative Fundraising: Support the development of creative fundraising strategies, including events and campaigns, to help us reach financial goals.
– Data-Driven Fundraising: Use analytics and a CRM system to track donor engagement, measure the success of fundraising campaigns, and identify opportunities for growth.
– Project Management: Coordinate marketing and fundraising activities, ensuring projects like newsletters and events are on track and delivered on time.
– Partnership Building: Engage and develop relationships with various stakeholders, including churches, businesses, and non-profits, to expand YU’s network of support.
– Research: Stay informed on industry trends and insights to help YU’s marketing and development efforts remain innovative and effective.
– Social Media Support: Support our Marketing Specialist in the management of our Social Media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
– Interest in using short-form, informal videos to tell stories about our work

This role might be for you if:

– You’re a storyteller who loves discovering and sharing the “why” behind people’s experiences.
– You enjoy creating content and are solid writer
– You’re passionate about helping vulnerable youth reach their full potential.
– You are excited about fundraising, and you enjoy the challenge of developing creative, effective ways to raise support.
– You’re analytical and appreciate using data and metrics to track progress and inform strategy.
– You appreciate event planning or event support and working on a variety of projects.
– You’re organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in both team and independent settings.
– You align with Youth Unlimited’s values and mission.

Qualifications:

– A post-secondary degree in communications, marketing, business, political science, or a related field (a diploma will be considered).
– 1-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or development (recent graduates are welcome to apply).
– Strong writing skills with an ability to tell compelling stories.
– Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
– Ideally some fundraising experience and training
– Familiarity with CRM systems and analytics to support fundraising strategies.
– Excellent organizational and project management skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Bonus to have:
– Experience in videography (filming and editing)
– Experience in non-profit development or communications.
– Experience with social media management tools.
– Proficiency in digital marketing and SEO.
– Skills in photography and/or graphic design.
– Experience with CRM software and fundraising databases.
– Access to a vehicle
– Comfort with cold calls.
