Agents of Healing
By Neil Miller & Sadiri Tira
Swordfish Publishing

What If We’ve Got It All Wrong?
What if we’ve been looking at healing as a spiritual gift when we should be looking at it as a spiritual discipline? What if healing is supposed to be a normal part of the Christian life?

Maybe you’ve been taught that the practice of healing died with the apostles. Or that the healing gifts are reserved for the special few. The truth is you can learn to heal the sick in Jesus’ name.

This book will show you

  • A simple method you can use to heal others
  • That practice is necessary if you are to heal effectively
  • What faith is and what faith is not
  • The difference between authority and power, and how to move in both
  • Why some people aren’t healed

Jesus healed people. Then he commanded his followers to do the same. This book will show you how to become an agent of healing.

About the author: Neil Miller is a professional engineer who runs a tech start-up company in Asia, writes books, and prays for people every chance he gets. Although he is a credentialed minister, he believes that you don’t have to be pastor or priest to heal the sick or hear God’s voice. He holds degrees from University of Waterloo and Tyndale Seminary. Christian Nationalism
By John Stackhouse Jr.
Think Better Media

Is love of country a virtue – or a danger? Respected theologian John G. Stackhouse Jr. offers a clear, balanced guide to understanding Christian nationalism – what it is, what it isn’t, and how Christians can faithfully love both God and nation without confusing the two.

The words Christian nationalism provoke strong reactions. For some, it’s a rallying cry for moral renewal. For others, it’s a warning of political idolatry. But what exactly does the term mean – and how should Christians think about it?

In Christian Nationalism: A Christian Guide to Loyalty, Idolatry, and Priority, theologian and ethicist John G. Stackhouse Jr. brings clarity, nuance, and biblical insight to one of the most polarizing issues of our time.

Drawing on history, theology, and contemporary culture, Stackhouse explores:

  • What nationalism really is – and how it differs from patriotism, populism, or racism.
  • How Christianity has shaped nations for good and for ill across centuries.
  • Why political allegiance can so easily become idolatry – and how to guard against it.
  • What a faithful Christian citizenship looks like today in an age of outrage and division.

Stackhouse offers a guide to discernment – a framework for loving our country as a gift without mistaking it for our god.

Whether you’re a pastor or a parent, a public leader or a private citizen, this book invites you to rethink what loyalty means for followers of Jesus.

For anyone concerned about the future of faith and public life, Christian Nationalism is a vital, clarifying, and deeply Christian resource.

About the author:  Dr. John G. Stackhouse, Jr., is an award-winning historian, theologian, and public scholar residing in Atlantic Canada. His central calling is to inform and inspire thoughtful Christians to follow Jesus more closely by thinking better about the intersection of faith and life.

Holding a Ph.D. in history and theology from The University of Chicago, Dr. Stackhouse has published a dozen books, edited or co-edited half-a-dozen more, published over a thousand articles, reviews, and book chapters. and lectured at universities around the world.

Dr. Stackhouse has addressed audiences as varied as the Young Presidents Organization, the Kirby Laing Centre at Cambridge University, the Christian Medical and Dental Society, the Conservative Party of Canada, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Christians for Biblical Equality, and the Alberta Teachers Association.

He has also rendered expert testimony to the British Columbia Supreme Court,
the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, and the Canada Revenue Agency. He is a sought-after consultant with CEOs, physicians, industry leaders, pastors, lawyers, and politicians around the globe on culture, strategy, and ethics.

In early 2023, with his wife, Sarah-Jane Britton, Dr. Stackhouse co-founded ThinkBetter Media, a public-facing platform that produces Christian theology and ethics resources for thoughtful Christians on the go.

Hannah’s Dream
By Hannah Ratman
Self-Published

What is the hardest thing you’ve walked through? How has it shaped your life and person? Have you ever experienced something that completely changed everything for you? A terrifying and life-altering prophetic dream was this moment for Hannah Ratnam.

Raised in Pakistan by devout Christian parents as a fourth-generation Christian, Hannah grew up witnessing the realities of persecution and poverty that Christians in Middle Eastern countries all too often face. Hannah escaped from Pakistan in 2000, never intending to return, and spent a long time focused on pursuing the comforts of this world and her own ambitions. But everything changed the day Hannah’s mom left this world. This, as well as a series of devastating events, caused her to begin to seek Almighty God with everything she had.

In her book, Hannah shares the true and supernatural story of her childhood blessings and challenges, her pursuit of the world, her powerful encounter with Jesus including her baptism in the Holy Spirit, and the subsequent prophetic dream that transformed and shaped her very being and mission.

More than just Hannah’s story and awakening dream, this is for those who are seeking their purpose or feel something missing spiritually. It is for those who are waiting in the shadows of uncertainty, hoping against hope for answered prayers. It’s a call to the church at large to encounter the living God, hear His voice, seek His will, and be His hands and feet to the world and to the persecuted church.

May these pages stir something holy in you. May you feel seen, known, and called, because the same God who wrote Hannah’s story and gave her supernatural dreams is the One who is writing your story.

“The word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born.” – Jeremiah 1:5

About the author: Hannah Ratnam is a devout, Spirit-filled Pakistani Christian woman, who is also a wife, and mother and the founder of Supernatural Stories Ltd. Production Company. Despite having a permanent disability, Hannah has written an international award-winning script, which has garnered 24 awards, and created a short film that has received 17 international awards. She is the producer of several short films, which have also received high recognition. She is passionate about sharing Biblical truth, prayer and fasting, mentoring others in the faith, creating awareness for and supporting the persecuted church.

The Cabin and other stories
By James R. Coggins
Mill Lake Books

This is a collection of stories, some long, some short, many recognizably ordinary, some fanciful or allegorical. They are set in a wide variety of times and places, most in the present but some in ancient times, most in North America but some in other places. They explore a wide variety of themes, human, biblical, and theological. At their heart are people, young Victor and old John, young couples and loners, simple folk and a few odd university professors. If there is a common theme, it is that all of these people, in various times and places, are surprised by grace. The title story, The Cabin, is centered on John, an old man who shows up in church one morning and who seemingly lives a simple life in a log cabin; however, there is much more going on under the surface. The final story, “Dead Man,” is a John Smyth murder mystery.

About the author: James R. Coggins is a professional writer and editor based in Chilliwack, British Columbia. He has BA and MA degrees from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, a Diploma in Christian Studies from Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, and a PhD (in History) from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario. He has served as an editor with Christian magazines (Mennonite Brethren Herald, BC Christian News, and The Light) and written a wide variety of materials, including devotional articles, academic articles, encyclopedia entries, social and political analyses, poetry, blogs and even a few jokes for Reader’s Digest. He is the founder of Mill Lake Books. His website is: www.coggins.ca. He blogs regularly at jamescoggins.wordpress.com and https://christiansread.wordpress.com/category/james-r-coggins/

What is God Able to do? The Devotional Meditations of E. May Coggins
Compiled and edited by James R. Coggins
Mill Lake Books

Why do we pray? What is God able to do? Why is the Bible like a valentine? Is God alive? Can you sign up for immortality? What causes worry? What are you searching for? What do we see? What do you have in the house? Why hobbies? Do we sometimes get into a rut at Christmas? These are just some of the practical spiritual questions addressed in this collection of biblical meditations. They were delivered mainly in women’s mission societies in a small-town church during the second half of the twentieth century. Besides offering practical spiritual enrichment, they also provide insights into social life in a previous age and are thus of historical interest.

About the author: E. May Cogginswas born E. May Griffiss in 1915 in England. She immigrated to Canada with her widowed mother in 1920. She grew up in southern Ontario with her mother, stepfather, and two half-brothers. Unusual for her time, she not only graduated from high school but also attended both teacher’s college and business college. She worked as a teacher and an office worker before marrying J. Ernest Coggins in 1946. They settled in the small town of Waterford, Ontario, and raised three children. Being a homemaker in those days meant that she did laundry with a wringer washing machine and clothesline, baked her own pies and cakes, and sewed clothes and canned food for her family. She also found time to maintain strong relationships with friends, neighbours, and family members. She maintained an extensive correspondence with distant missionaries, friends, and relatives. She was a faithful member of her church, teaching Sunday school for decades and playing a leading role in the mission circles. She was able to continue that work until her sudden death in 2000.

50 States of Grief
By Vanessa Siemens
Self-Published

50 States of Grief is a deeply personal and poignant memoir that chronicles a journey of loss, healing, and self-discovery. Author Vanessa Siemens embarks on an ambitious road trip across all 50 states of the USA following the death of her mother, with whom she shared a love of travel. Initially intended to mark the end of a season of grief, the trip becomes an exploration of mourning, revealing that grief is not a temporary phase but a lifelong companion.

Through vivid descriptions of landscapes and encounters, Siemens shares her reflections on navigating loss, the unexpected triggers of grief, and the complex emotions that accompany mourning. From the tulip fields of Washington to the canyons of Utah and the swamps of Louisiana, each state serves as a backdrop for personal revelations and moments of profound connection. The narrative weaves together travelogue with introspective essays, exploring themes of faith, expectations, and the search for meaning in the midst of pain.

More than just a travelogue, 50 States of Grief is an honest and vulnerable account of learning to live with loss, finding beauty in unexpected places, and discovering that grief, while painful, can also enrich life with depth and understanding. This book will resonate with anyone who has experienced loss and is seeking a path toward healing and wholeness.

About the author: Vanessa Siemens is a writer, tap dancer, and road tripper who never thought she’d write a book about grief-until life gave her no other option. Born and based in Canada, she brings a blend of honesty, humour, and hope to everything she creates. When she’s not writing in her favourite corner of a coffee shop, she’s likely adventuring with her dog Esmay, planning the next tap performance, or having deep conversations over strong coffee. This is her first book-a love letter to loss, healing, and the winding road in between.

Love Personified
By Tim Whitehead
Castle Quay Books

There are some things, that are best to learn from observing, like whether the stove is hot or the milk has gone bad. True Christian love is a difficult concept to understand and even more difficult to put into practice. But there are others who have set an example for us to emulate and have even personified the characteristics the Apostle Paul used to explain this love in 1 Corinthians 13. Love Personified lets us walk in the shoes of those that have gone before and demonstrated their love for God and for others through kindness and endurance, patience and hope. Love Personified takes a deep dive to see how Joseph’s love suffered long, or how Abraham loved God by hoping in His promises and many more examples. By copying their behaviour we can demonstrate agape love ourselves and permit everyone to discover what true Christian love really is.

About the author: Rev. Tim Whitehead CPA, CMA is the Executive Director of Galcom International, leading a diverse team that has installed over 200 radio stations around the world and manufactured and distributed over 1.5 million solar powered, fix-tuned radios and audio Bibles into 140 different countries.
