Billions of people worldwide lack access to safe, affordable healthcare. Make your mark as a volunteer professional with Mercy Ships and change healthcare in African. Join a global community of volunteers bringing hope and healing.
Mercy Ships operates state-of-the-art hospital ships run by skilled volunteers to provide free healthcare in developing nations.
The world’s largest purpose-built civilian hospital, the Global Mercy, will soon be joining the Africa Mercy in our fleet.
Our new hospital ship, the Global Mercy, will have over 600 people worldwide who will bring their skills, talents, and whole sleeves onboard when fully operational. The hospital decks represent Global Mercy’s unique heart, consisting of six operating theatres and hospital wards for 200 patients, laboratory, general outpatient, ophthalmology, and dental clinics.
There are volunteer crew roles for electricians, plumbers, deck officers, marine engineers, teachers, surgeons, nurses, galley staff, IT support, and administrative professionals (and more) on our two ships.
Adding the Global Mercy to the Mercy Ships fleet more than doubles our capacity to strengthen healthcare systems in developing nations and leave a lasting impact. Mercy Ships Canada is preparing for this milestone moment in transforming healthcare delivery and medical capacity building by recruiting more skilled volunteers than ever before. Make your mark and find your place onboard.
