The Salvation Army is a Christian organization giving hope and support to vulnerable people in Abbotsford & Mission, in 400 communities across Canada and 133 countries around the world. The Salvation Army’s operations in Canada began in 1882 and have grown to become one of the largest direct providers of social services in the country.

YOUR LOCAL SALVATION ARMY
The Cascade Community Ministry Unit was established in 1986 and serves the communities of Abbotsford and Mission with two locations, Cascade Community Church and the Centre of Hope.
The Centre of Hope services and programs include:
Meal Centre with daily community meals, grocery cart program and Pantry34 healthy snack program now in 30 schools
Thirty five Emergency shelter and pet friendly shelter
Next Step Program – residents stay 6-12 months, completing programs that will aid them in transitioning back into an independent lifestyle.
Family services – offers a wide variety of programs including – emergency hampers, rent subsidies, summer camp programs and back to school supplies.
Medical clinic – LNP, LP and doctors provide care on-site and virtually
Outreach teams and case managers work with the vulnerable, both housed and unhoused, on-site, in the camps and local neighbourhoods.
The Red Kettle Campaign an annual major fundraising event held in December.
Family Thrift Store
Emergency Disaster Services has an on-site office in the Centre of Hope. They feed and support first responders and evacuees in the event of a community crisis such as a fire or natural disaster.
