It seems to me that people see the mystery of praise as something you should do when you go to Church but have no personal experience using it as a weapon. Let me share my experience with you. Some years back, I developed Chicken pox. I didn’t have it as a kid and having it as an adult made the effect on me worse. It was so bad that I had to stay with my mum just in case it got worse. During this period, I decided not to use any medication because I believe so much in divine healing. While in the house, I would always pray to God for healing and I knew that once I trusted God and used some weapons of the Kingdom e.g., faith, prayer, worship, within two days, I will be very fine.
I noticed this time around it took longer than expected so I wondered what the problem was. Unknown to me, my Mum was praying that all the chicken pox would come out so I would be healed once and for all.
I decided to praise God because I knew the weapon will bring God’s presence and even sickness can’t stand God’s presence. Luckily for me, everyone went out and I was left alone in the house. I played this 45-minute praise song and danced with all my energy, even though I felt weak. That very day – in fact just after the praise ended – there was a significant change. I felt much better. The healing was complete within a day.
My second experience is more recent. I worked in a university where I attended to students. In the office, there were two of us and the workload was too much for both. Suddenly, the second person resigned and I was left alone.
The other person had been doing administrative duties along with his main assignment. So, when he left, my boss expected me to do the administrative duties, adding this work load. How will one person do all that work? Being firm and saying “No” didn’t make matters easy. To make matters worse, the number of students I saw in a day was almost double. I knew this was more spiritual than it was physical. Then I remembered praise. I downloaded praise songs and played them once I entered the office until it was time to leave.
A drastic change took place. First, I noticed the number of students drastically reduced. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, I wasn’t being disturbed about administrative duties, rather a committee was set up for it.
Don’t underestimate the presence of God and the weapon of praise. For you to truly enjoy this weapon, being a child of God is very important. Because God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3).
