Title: Youth Ministry Coordinator
General Description: The Youth Ministry Coordinator is responsible to provide leadership for the high school youth program:
Providing relational leadership and mentoring for the youth as they grow spiritually and relationally;
Planning the youth program in collaboration with the Youth Leadership Team;
Leading discussion sessions and collaborating with visiting speakers;
Organizing and delivering fun and engaging activities.
Hours: Part-time, 10 hours per week, including some week nights and/or Sundays and approximately four full weekends per year

Qualifications
The successful candidate will be:
A committed Christian who can talk comfortably about their faith and who models faithful living.
A relational leader who is comfortable with and enjoys the company of high school aged youth.
An enthusiastic event coordinator who can successfully deliver weekly gatherings and contribute to organizing special events.
An effective partner with the Youth Leadership Team and Pastor, knowing how to use their own strengths, when to ask for help, and grace and patience when engaging with parents.
Previous experience or training in leading youth and young people, youth ministry, administration and organization are all beneficial, but not required.
Key activities:
Relationship Building and Supervisory Activities
Attend weekly evening youth gatherings, including leading some discussions, and coordinating visiting speakers.
Connect relationally with the youth, at weekly gatherings, through other follow-up contact, and by regularly praying for them.
Attend and supervise several longer trips away (Fall Retreat, All-Ontario Youth Convention, summer service project)
Planning and Administrative Activities
Participate in Youth Leadership Team meetings. The Youth Leadership Team is made up of parents, the Elder for Youth, and the Pastor.
The Youth Coordinator will lead planning for:
Weekly youth gatherings. This may include a mix of sessions led by the Youth Coordinator, the Pastor, and invited speakers. Other weekly sessions may include games nights, fun outings, and service outings.
Summer service project. This could be with CRC Serve, or organized independently by New Life CRC.
Weekend events (e.g. Fall Retreat, All-Ontario Youth Convention).
Networking with other churches to foster a community for the youth beyond New Life CRC (e.g. attending youth services or shared events at other locations, etc.)
Accountability:
The Youth Coordinator will:
Report to the Pastor, and be mentored by the Pastor.
Be supported by the Youth Elder.
Liaise regularly with the Youth Leadership team.
