After-School Program Instructor & Substitute Instructor
Pacific Academy is seeking trained and experienced applicants to join our After-School Program. We are hiring for two positions:
- After-School Program Instructor – Starting September 2025
- Substitute After-School Program Instructor – prior to September 2025, with the start date to be determined based on program needs
Job Description:
As an After School Program Instructor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students in various educational and recreational activities. Your role will involve planning, organizing, and leading structured sessions in one or more of the following areas:
- Sports & Physical Activities (e.g., various sports, martial arts, dance)
- STEM & Academic Enrichment (e.g., coding, science, math, English, debate)
- Creative Arts (e.g., fine arts, drama, music)
- Strategic & Language-Based Programs (e.g., chess, foreign languages, other engaging clubs)
Qualifications:
Candidates should have:
- Passion for working with children and promoting positive development
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred
- Pursuing or holding a Bachelor of Education, ECE (Early Childhood Education) or equivalent work experience/qualification is preferred
- Ability to effectively manage groups of students and adapt to varying needs and abilities
- Enthusiasm for the subject areas you will be instructing
- Flexibility and willingness to collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals
- Understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
- Active and personal support of a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
- Criminal Record Check
Responsibilities may include:
- Planning, organizing, and leading age-appropriate activities for children in the after-school program.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students by supervising activities and maintaining a safe environment.
- Collaborating with other program staff to ensure the smooth operation of the program and the success of all students.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, dismissal, behavior, and program activities.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Picking up students from their classrooms and bringing them to the after-school program classrooms
